Saurganga Darshandhari (b. 1980) is a visual, performance and installation artist and printmaker based in Kathmandu, Nepal.  She holds a BFA from Tribhuvan University (Kathmandu), and an MFA in Printmaking from the University of Development Alternatives (Dhaka, Bangladesh). She is a founding member of Bindu - a space for artists, and teaches printmaking at Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu. She has exhibited in Nepal and India, had residencies in Bangladesh, South Korea and Sri Lanka, and has received many awards, most recently the Australian Himalayan Foundation artistic award. She is part of a young dynamic artivist generation that was and is at the forefront of bringing relief and using art to heal people affected by the 2015 earthquake in Nepal.  “My father inspired me. He was a dancer and he used to take me to performances. He would see the dance and the steps and all I would see were colors and movements.  My art is my diary, my record and platform to promote political and social change especially as it relates to the role of women and men in society.”
