Erina Tamrakar is a visual artist born in Kathmandu, with an MFA from Tribhuwan University, Nepal.  Her paintings have focused on women and their relationships that convey a strong commentary on society – her menstruation series was to challenge customs that consider women impure while they menstruate.  She is the co-founder of Kasthamandap Art Studio and E-Arts Nepal. In addition to her 14 solo exhibitions in Nepal and Korea, her works have been exhibited in France, Tibet, India, Sri Lanka, South Korea, USA, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Japan, Dubai and Bhutan. She is the recipient of several awards and prizes and completed a residency in South Korea in 2008.
