Soni’s story. I am inspired by the beauty I grew up with all around me in Rajashtan – of animals and peacocks and birds.  I was painting quietly in the cow shed when my mother-in-law came looking for me.  I was worried that she would scold me for shirking my household duties as a new bride - you know how Indian mother-in-laws can be - Instead she saw my passion and bought me paints. I am now a full-time practicing and successful artist, connecting my village to the world.
